Introduction of our raw material base
Green production base—Bashang grassland
Bashang grassland which located in the border of Shanxi, Hebei and Inner Mongolia was the first preference for autumn traveling and hunting as to Emperors in Qing Dynasty. Its average altitude ranges from 1300 to 1600m with the highest of 2400m. The latitude ranges from 41 to 42 with a annual average temperature of 1 to 3℃. It is the perfect place for oat planting because of its high altitude, short frostless season, big temperature gap and plenteous sunshine which are all very suitable for the growth of oat. Oat planted here accounted for more than 80% of the total planting area around the country and that had made it the largest raw material supplying base for oat industry. Unique geological conditions, ecological factors and excellent varietys made the excellent quality of the oat.
Excellent variety—Bayou No.1
Oat Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science which was established in 1950 was the only research institute that took the sole crop oat as its research material. We cooperated with the institute in terms of variety resource, new variety selection, breeding method, high-yield culture technique and oat deep processing technique. The new variety—Bayou No.1 specialized for processing had become the special variety for American Guige Co., Ltd which is the largest oatmeal producer in the world for its excellent quality.
Thousands mu of fertile land—Gift of nature
The company cooperated with the Oat Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science and had established a demonstration planting base which covered an area of 2000 mu in Bashang region in Zhangjiakou. The radiating production counties included the whole region of Zhangbei, Guyuan, Kangbao and Shangyi County, greater part of Chongli County and the arctic-alpine mountain area of Baxia County. The main varietys included Bayou No.1, Jizhangyou No.4 and Huazao No.2. The Oat Research Institute provided farmers with excellent varietys uniformly and conducted the farmers to cultivate oat according to relative standard. No fertilizer, pesticide and growth regulator are permitted in order to guarantee the excellent properties of the product such as green, organic and pollution free.
